Festival season is here and they’re not just for the kids! Attending a music festival in your 30s with your best girl friends is guaranteed to be a day of memories.

If you were an avid festival goer in your childhood, the idea of wearing a gold sequin mini dress might not quite be your vibe now and comfort is probably your priority when it comes to choosing what to wear. Plus, in the UK, you’ve got to be prepared for unpredictable weather.

Our advice? Wear what you like! Honestly anything goes for festival fashion these days, so don’t be afraid to flaunt your personal style. But, if you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got you covered.

From a relaxed casual style to more boho chic, read on for our top festival dressing tips and favourite festival outfit ideas.

Our 3 top tips before you choose your outfit:

  1. Think comfort first – you’ll be walking and dancing on your feet all day, so practical footwear is a must. For unpredictable weather and notoriously muddy locations, a pair of wellies is ideal. But if you’re sure the weather will hold out, go for some black canvas high top trainers to last you through the day.

  2. Wear something loose fitting – opting for a floaty top and shorts or a flowy dress will not only keep you cool but also make sure you can dance your heart out without feeling restricted.

  3. Prepare with lightweight layers – Taking a light layering cardigan, jumper or even waterproof jacket means you’ll be prepared for any unexpected rain or when the sun goes in. Tie a sweatshirt over round your waist or opt for a cargo style jacket you can quickly throw on.

Now for the fun part - the outfit ideas!

1. Casual and relaxed

If laid-back is your vibe, a classic pair of denim shorts and a graphic t-shirt will be your perfect and comfortable outfit choice for festival season. Pair with canvas trainers and your favourite sunnies.

2. Boho chic

Bohemian style is always popular for festivals, so opt for a printed wrap skirt and milkmaid style top to match the vibe. Accessorize with a cute hair piece or fun earrings

Crochet tops or co-ords are a go-to for festivals and a lightweight knitted jumper will keep you cool and comfortable. Match with elasticated paperbag shorts for extra comfort.
